STEM Beginner Program
A 15-session, hands-on introduction to STEM for college students who have never written code, wired a circuit or trained a model. You learn the HOLD method (Hypothesize, Observe, Learn & Link, Design & Debug), use free simulation, design, AI and ML tools, write Python, and program an ESP32.
It ends with a capstone you build yourself: a working Sense-Think-Act embedded system with a live demo and a written design report.
What You'll Learn
Define STEM and map real products and careers in at least 3 industries to the disciplines behind them
Use the HOLD method to plan, test and document a solution to a real problem
Use PhET, Tinkercad, Google AI Experiments and Teachable Machine to model, design and test ideas
Explain how machine learning differs from rule-based programming, and measure a model's accuracy
Write, run and debug Python programs with variables, input/output, conditions and loops
Apply Ohm's law to choose a safe resistor for an LED
Program an ESP32 in MicroPython to read sensors and control LEDs and a buzzer
Build, test, debug and present a physical Sense-Think-Act project with a written design report
Perfect For
This course is for...
College students with no prior coding, electronics or STEM background. Nothing assumes a science background; where maths appears, it is short and worked through step by step. You need a laptop with internet access and a ruled notebook. The ESP32 hardware kit for the capstone is provided by Hold Space.

Our Proven
Methodology
Every chapter follows the HOLD method: predict first, measure second, explain third and build last. Each 2-hour session has a prediction, a guided experiment with a data table, the core concept linked to science, maths, electronics and technology, and a build challenge with a debug checklist. Learning is checked through session activities, three graded lab write-ups, a mid-program quiz and the capstone.
Learn the Core
Master foundational concepts through expert-led, interactive sessions.
Build by Doing
Apply knowledge instantly with hands-on projects and active assembly.
Innovate & Evolve
Push boundaries and create unique solutions beyond the course manual.
Why Learn STEM Beginner Program?
The program closes with a capstone (Chapter 15): a real ESP32 project the learner designs, programs, tests, debugs, presents and documents. It is worth 40% of the final score and is judged on functionality, technical understanding, implementation, debugging and presentation.
Built for college students who have never written code, wired a circuit or trained a model
All software tools used are free and run in a browser (PhET, Tinkercad, Google AI Experiments, Teachable Machine, Wokwi, online Python)
ESP32 hardware kit for the capstone is provided by Hold Space
In-person, classroom/lab-based in Tiruppur: 15 sessions × 2 hours
